After high school, I intended on becoming an orthopedic surgeon, so I started down the pre-medical and biomechanics track, creating my own self-defined major in the process. Because of my unique major, I have been able to take technical courses in a variety of disciplines including organic chemistry I&II , biochemistry, thermodynamics and dynamics. However, after discovering my passion for mechanical design and electromechanical systems when I was building test stations for a medical device company, I narrowed my focus toward an M.S. in Mechanical Engineering. This pivot required constant adaptation, often enrolling in advanced courses without the typical prerequisites, which pushed me to quickly grasp new concepts. My diverse technical background has allowed me to connect ideas across disciplines, enhancing my ability to think critically and solve problems. This adaptability empowers me to tackle complex challenges creatively in a dynamic environment, which is why I believe I have thrived in my masters and my research.
I have a diverse skill set in mechanical design, robotics, programming and biomechanics with expertise in software such as Ansys Workbench, Solidworks, Matlab/Simulink, Python, and Arduino. I have been coding for 10 years. I have hands-on experience with metal/woodworking, circuits, actuators, 3D printing, and designing control systems.
During undergrad, I played basketball at CMU and I still love to dunk and jump in my free time. I was Push-Team Captain for Pika Buggy (2023 Champions). I have been a strength and conditioning coach for 5 years. I also love sprinting, olympic weightlifting, cooking, and hanging out with my dog, Cooper.
